Rusalka

Y'see, this was going to be a watercolour painting, but I never got around to it, so I scanned the lineart in and ended up colouring digitally. I was hoping the watercolour paper would add an interesting texture to it, buuut it didn't.

So this, friends, is a rusalka. Would you like a quote describing my beauty?

A divinity of the water, she was the spirit of a maiden that drowned. In some areas they kept the image of the beautiful girl that drowned, whilein other areas they were wicked, misformed creatures. To a few they appeared as dead, decaying bodies with evil green eyes. In the south their bodies were covered by mist, whilst in the north they were always naked. The Rusalka from the south put people passing by in a spell with her beautiful body and voice. Those in the north had the habit of torturing and drowning their victims.

It's really freaky how accurately she turned out, seeing all I had was a two year old scribble saying something like 'Norse spirit of drowned maiden that lured men to their deaths'. What can I say, I'm a genius.
